Well, this weekend ND finally won their first game of the season. They're now 1-5. Their 0-5 record before this weekend was the worst they've ever had. This year has been the first time in history that they went 0-4 and 0-5. A week ago against Purdue, they did play better than in the previous weeks, but still couldn't manage to do more than make it a game. Against UCLA, they appear to have played for real. I say appeared, because I didn't watch it on TV. I couldn't find a channel broadcasting it. But I found a neat little on-line app, that with little graphics shows each play kind of as it's happening. There appears to be a few minute delay, but it's better than just seeing the score after it's all over. Anyway, that was certainly an up moment for the weekend.
This week is our last week before fall break, so I'm giving my midterm on Wed. Tonight is the review. I usually like the way reviews go, but sometimes they're pretty flat. As to the exam, we'll see. I never think it's going to be a killer, but sometimes people have trouble on things I wouldn't expect them to. Other times I worry that it's going to be too hard, and then someone says it's the easiest one I've given. I never can tell.
Still trying to get going on the instructor's material. I just don't seem to have enough day at the end of the work to really get started. But the bad part is that I don't really feel like I'm getting a whole lot done on other things either. One way or another, I've got to give myself a kick in the pants soon and get this going.
Not much else going on. We're planning a little trip for fall break, actually during my daughter's fall break and partly during our fall break. Anyway, we're going to Atlanta for some stuff. Hopefully, it'll be restful and restorative.
